Jordan Makansi is a jazz pianist and composer whose musical journey began at a young age, rooted in jazz and branching into the soulful grooves of R&B. With over a decade of experience, he has performed in a wide range of settings—from intimate solo concerts and classic piano trios to dynamic big bands.
He has studied under acclaimed musicians including Phil Haynes, David Arnay, and Eric Verlinde, and has shared the stage with jazz luminaries such as Art Lande and Dean Sorenson. His playing is distinguished by a deep harmonic sensibility, blending complex chord voicings with lush, textured improvisation.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Bill Evans, Eric Dolphy, Red Garland, Cory Henry, Shaun Martin, and Robert Glasper, his style bridges tradition and innovation. In addition to interpreting standards, he brings a fresh voice to the scene through his own original jazz compositions.
